Regular Meeting Minutes of November 12, 2009 with correction to #8-b-iv Chair
Hagan to seek Nels Anderson attendance to meeting, and Vice Chair Reiss to seek
Susan Burack attendance to meeting in January or February supported by Vice
Chair Reiss.

Correspondences: Michigan Citizen Planner offered an approved
online, seven module training course.
8. Old Business:
a. Township Board Report:
i.
T.B. will be purposing $6,100 for 2010/11 Planning Commission Budget,
with allocations for supplies, education / training, mileage, mapping and
wages. To date P.C. for 09/10 spent
$3,086.45.
ii.
Approved Chair Hagan and Secretary Johnson to take advantage of reduced
price Citizen’s Planner Online Training.
Course is seven modules, each take 5 to 7 hours to complete with
completion within 6 months.
Certification testing is offered and must pass with 70%.
iii.
Board discussed implications of zoning.
b. Progress on Sections of
Master Plan
i.
Chair Hagan reviewing
ii.
Vice Chair Reiss expressed need for maps.
iii.
Commissioner Sibilsky needs photos.
iv.
Secretary Johnson reviewing township records, found copy of an old
county wide survey results done by MTU Regional GEM Center August 1997submitted
copies for members to review.
c. Goals:
i.
Chair Hagan will invite Nels Anderson GIS Specialist and Supervisor
Maki at WUPPDR to January meeting for discussion on Mapping, production, and
capabilities.
ii.
Vice Chair Reiss will be in contact with Susan Burack Correction: 1.21.10 Vice Chair Reiss will be in
contact with Calumet Township for a copy of their Master Plan.
9. New Business:
a. Michigan Citizen’s Planner – discussed under T.B.
report
b. Small Scale Renewable Energy
Systems 101 Workshop: Chair Hagan attended, much
covered on Wind, Outdoor Boilers, prohibitive fuels, tires, noise, zoning
language and possible solar glare issues, other needs, references to Negaunee,
Garfield and Michigamme.
